GSA leader's zero footprint
Administrator Martha Johnson hit a unique mark of making little, or maybe no, impact on her environment.
Martha Johnson, administrator of the General Services Administration and a big advocate for environmental friendliness, might have accomplished something remarkable recently.
Her agency has “an aspiration goal” to have a zero environmental footprint. That's a hard target to reach, but she might have done something just as impressive with her keynote address on a lovely spring morning March 15 on the opening day of GSA’s Interagency Resources Management Conference.
After her address on sustainability and the environment, she said, "I’d love to take a few minutes and address whatever questions you might have.”
But there were zero questions, just a silent room.
“Anybody?” she asked again. “Ya sure?”
Nope, no one.
Call it a zero question footprint.
