CACI provides IT support to DOD's anti-IED offices

CACI International Inc. will provide mission support and IT services to two Defense Department organizations under a four-year, $20 million task order.

The award falls under the $494 million indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity Comprehensive Support Services contract that CACI won in August 2009, according to a CACI announcement released today.

Specifically, this task order calls for CACI to support the Strategic Plans and Policy Division and the Command, Control Communications and Computer Systems Division of the DOD’s Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization, known as JIEDDO.

For the Strategic Plans and Policy Division CACI will coordinate and integrate DOD joint planning efforts with all combatant commands; the armed services; the intelligence community; interagency organizations; and public, private and international partners.

In addition, CACI will provide the Command, Control Communications and Computer Systems Division with complex IT support services in specialty areas such as systems administration, enterprise architecture, project management and information assurance.

According to the CACI statement, the work will help JIEDDO, which leads the DOD’s global efforts to counter roadside bombs, implement an IT and knowledge management strategy to rapidly deploy critical information on threats from improvised explosive devices, which ultimately will assist in critical decision-making, accountability and innovation.
