SAIC will help USDA grow its Web site apps

Science Applications International Corp. will provide information technology services to the Agriculture Department under a five-year task order that could be worth more than $52 million if all options are exercised.

The task order, from the General Services Administration’s Alliant contract, calls for SAIC to assist the Farm Service Agency primarily in Kansas City, Mo.

FSA administers and manages farm commodity, credit, conservation, disaster and loan programs for farmers and ranchers, SAIC said in a statement released today.

Under the task order, SAIC will develop Web-based tools that will enable FSA employees to administer the application process for conservation programs. The tools will manage the process flow of the programs, provide summary reports and evaluations, and facilitate the selection and approval of applications.

SAIC, of McLean, Va., ranks No. 5 on Washington Technology’s 2010 Top 100 list of the largest federal contractors.
