Harris names new head of IT services business

John Heller has been named president of Harris Corp.'s IT Services business unit, succeeding Ted Hengst, who recently was named vice president and chief information officer, according to a company announcement released today.

Heller, who will report to Chief Operating Officer Daniel Pearson, has been vice president and general manager of IT Services’ Defense Department programs since joining Harris in 2007 with the acquisition of Multimax Inc.

In his new role as president of IT Services, Heller will lead all aspects of the business, including partnering with cross-divisional operational leadership, key staff members and customers.

Heller brings more than 25 years of IT leadership through his former positions that include president and COO of Multimax; president and CEO of Netco Government Services; and president and CEO of Rentport Inc.

Earlier, he served as principal at TenX Capital Management, and held senior management positions with Answerthink Consulting and Deloitte & Touche Consulting.

Heller is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and holds a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Pittsburgh.
