Northrop, SAIC share Navy awards worth almost $38M

Northrop Grumman Corp. and Science Applications International Corp. have been awarded indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity, cost-plus-fixed-fee contracts from the Navy that have a cumulative value of an estimated $37.6 million.

Northrop Grumman Space and Mission Systems and SAIC will provide surveillance, detection and assessment equipment support for the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center’s Enhanced Tactical Automated Security System, the Defense Department announced today.

The companies also will provide site surveys, integration, installation and technical support.

About 60 percent of the work will be performed in California, North Carolina and Japan; the remainder will be performed in Arizona, South Carolina, Florida, Hawaii, Virginia and the District of Columbia.

The support services are expected to be completed July 2011, but if all options are exercised, the work could continue until July 2015.

The multiple award contracts were competitively procured by full and open competition via the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center e-Commerce Central Web site, DOD said.

The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic, Charleston, S.C., is the contracting activity.
