CACI pipes aboard former NCIS chief

CACI International Inc. has named Gregory Scovel vice president of the Cyber Law Enforcement and Force Protection Division in the company’s Cyber Solutions Group.

Formerly acting director of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS), Scovel will be responsible for developing business opportunities and providing strategic direction in areas such as cyber and force protection for the military services’ law enforcement community, cyber forensics and anti-terrorism efforts, according to an announcement CACI made today.

Scovel has more than 30 years’ experience at NCIS. During his tenure, the agency achieved a number of successes in the areas of counterintelligence, anti-terrorism, law enforcement and analysis, the announcement states. Scovel was instrumental in transforming NCIS into an active and progressive agency.

He became a member of the NCIS executive staff in 2001, spent more than six years in the government's Senior Executive Service and served seven years as an intelligence officer in the Navy Reserve.

Scovel said he would use his experience and skills to support CACI’s work in improving IT security, countering asymmetric threats and helping protect the nation’s logistics supply chain.
