Northrop will provide program support to Marine Corps

Northrop Grumman Corp. has received a $7 million task order from the Navy to provide business operations and program management support to the Marine Corps.

In addition to supplying business operations and program management support, Northrop’s Defense Mission Systems unit will provide strategic initiatives; logistics, engineering and technical support, as well as technical management and administration support for the Marine Corps Systems Command, Global Combat Support System (GCSS-MC) program office in Herndon, Va., according to a Defense Department announcement made Dec. 23..

The GCSS-MC program office is responsible for life=cycle management of multiple information technology solutions under development by a variety of prime vendors, the announcement said.

The task order is worth $7,091,176, exclusive of renewal options.

The work will be performed in Woodbridge, Va., and is expected to be completed in January 2011. The Marine Corps System Command, Quantico, Va., is the contracting activity.
