Four grab share of $140M security training contract

American Systems, General Dynamics Corp., GovSource Inc. and Northrop Grumman Corp. will compete for training task orders under a $140 million contract with the Army.
American Systems, General Dynamics Corp., GovSource Inc., and Northrop Grumman Corp. will compete for work under a $140 million contract from the Army.
The contract with the Army’s Security Assistance Training Management Organization will support the organization’s mission to train security teams deployed around the world.
The services include training and technical assistance overseas to support combatant commanders security cooperation strategies, U.S. foreign policy and the global war on terrorism.
“Thorough security training is a critical foundation for soldiers and civilians to accomplish operational missions abroad,” William Hoover, president and chief executive officer of American Systems, said in a statement.
The contract is for one year with four one-year options.
Northrop Grumman is ranked No. 3 and General Dynamics is ranked No. 4 on Washington Technology’s 2009 Top 100 list of the largest government contractors.
