Jacobs' test support for NASA programs to continue

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. will continue to provide testing support services to NASA, having secured the first of two one-year contract options with a potential value of $54 million.

The five-year contract, which began May 2006, has a potential total value of $270.5 million if all options are exercised.

The award covers test and evaluation support at NASA’s White Sands Test Facility near Las Cruces, N.M.

Jacobs will provide services to support rocket propulsion testing, materials and components testing, depot-level repair of flight hardware, and maintenance and repair of test systems, company officials said.

The work also will have a strong focus on support for the space shuttle, International Space Station, and the Constellation program, they added.

Jacobs Engineering, of Pasadena, Calif., ranks No. 20 on Washington Technology’s 2008 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
