General Dynamics wins USCIS contract
The company will produce blank identification cards for USCIS to be used for new immigrant work eligibility cards.
General Dynamics Information Technology, of Fairfax, Va., will provide blank identification cards under a $22 million contract for a new identification card produced by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCS) agency.
The new identification card will allow immigrants to provide eligibility to work in the United States, USCIS announced today on the Federal Business Opportunities Web site. The new card is named the Employment Authorization Secure Identity Document.
Under the indefinite-quantity, indefinite-delivery contract, General Dynamics IT will provide non-optical card stock and peripherals. It will have to adapt the specific card design to include holograms and other security features, if required. The contract has a one-year base period and four one-year options.
General Dynamics Corp., of Falls Church, Va., ranks No. 6 on Washington Technology's 2008 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
