Lockheed wins $400 million IT support contract

Lockheed Martin Corp. won a $400 million information technology contract to support the General Services Administration’s Federal Acquisition Service, officials announced today.

The contract is for a FAS Applications, Maintenance and Enhancements (FAME) blanket purchase agreement. The new award provides Federal Acquisition Service with a range of IT support for its business systems.

GSA’s Federal Systems Integration and Management Center competitively awarded the contract on behalf of the FAS Office of the Chief Information Officer. The award was issued via the GSA information technology schedule 70 contract. The contract is worth $400 million over five years, if all options are exercised.

This new purchase agreement will enable Federal Acquisition Service to more efficiently manage and administer FAS IT system operations and program management support, according to GSA.

Lockheed Martin, of Bethesda, Md., ranks No. 1 on Washington Technology’s 2008 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
