Harris to help CDC with health statistics

Harris Corp. will provide the technology support necessary for the Centers for Disease Control to collect, analyze and disseminate health statistics under a three-year, $5.4 million contract.
Under the contract, Harris will furnish a wide array of information technology support services to the CDC's National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS). These services include software development, database management, computer modeling, and data warehousing, company officials said.
Other services covered under the agreement are quality assurance, network and systems engineering, and data entry. Harris has provided IT support to NCHS for 16 years, company officials said.
Harris, of Melbourne, Fla., ranks No. 13 on Washington Technology's 2008 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
