Northrop wins $252M logistics support deal

Northrop Grumman Technical Services Inc. will continue furnishing logistics support for the Air Force's C-20 aircraft under a $252.3 million follow-on contract.

Under the terms of the award, the company will provide depot maintenance, base supply, flight line maintenance and field team support, the Defense Department said Aug. 6.

The C-20 is a military modification of the commercial Gulfstream aircraft and has a communications suite for secure voice and data transmissions. The Air Force uses it to transport high-ranking government and DOD officials around the globe.

C-20 aircraft are stationed at Andrews Air Force Base, Md., and Ramstein Air Base, Germany, according to an Air Force fact sheet. The Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center is the contracting activity.

Northrop Grumman Technical Services Inc., of Herndon, Va., is one of three sectors that constitute Northrop Grumman's Information and Services business. The other two are Information Technology and Mission Systems.

The parent company, based in Los Angeles, ranks No. 3 on Washington Technology's 2008 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
