Guident to upgrade Export-Import Bank info systems

Find opportunities — and win them.

Guident will replace the bank's current integrated information and reporting system with a business intelligence repository and data warehouse.

Guident Technologies Inc. will redesign and modernize the outdated information system at the Export-Import Bank of the United States under a contract that could be worth as much as $5.3 million.

Guident will replace the bank's current integrated information and reporting system with a business intelligence repository and data warehouse.

Under the terms of the agreement, Guident will modernize the reporting system to increase efficiency and productivity, improve measurability and accountability, and support budget planning and management.

The new system will be based on Oracle technology and will consist of a new data warehouse and new data-integration processes, as well as reporting, analytical and dashboard capabilities.

The new centralized data warehouse and business intelligence tool will provide ad hoc analysis, self-service reporting and management-level dashboard capabilities. Those features will foster better decision-making and ensure the capture and analysis of critical metrics for the bank, which is the official export credit agency of the federal government.

The bank relies heavily on reports that require capturing and manually consolidating performance metrics from several systems, said Boyd Harter, an executive vice president at Guident.

"The existing system lacks a central data warehouse capability and easy-to-use views to the information," he said. "It is difficult and inefficient for the end user."

Guident will be responsible for all aspects of delivery, including project management, development, training and support, company officials said. The contract has a nine-month base period with four option years.

Guident is certified as an 8(a) and small, disadvantaged business. It is based in Herndon, Va.
