Northrop Grumman Corp. will continue to support the Alabama Department of Human Resources under a new contract for data-center hosting services for the Alabama Location, Enforcement and Collection System.

The system provides child support processing and services. State officials use the federally certified system to locate absent parents, establish paternity support, and collect and disburse child support payments. It also facilitates the enforcement of child support agreements and case reviews.

Altogether, the Alabama system processes about $350 million in collections every year.

Northrop Grumman's Information Technology sector will continue to provide data-center IT services, database support and services, data-center hosting and related services under the contract, which could span five years and be worth $32.7 million if all optional renewals are exercised, according to the company.

Northrop Grumman was awarded the preceding data-center hosting support and services contract in 2003.

Northrop Grumman, based in Los Angeles, ranked No. 3 on Washington Technology's 2007 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
