CSC to aid EPA research office

Computer Sciences Corp. will supply information technology and information management services to the Environmental Protection Agency under a seven-year, $110 million contract.

The award calls for CSC to provide systems design, development and integration services for EPA's Office of Research and Development.

In addition, CSC will provide development, integration and data services for geographic information systems, scientific models and high-performance computing.

The R&D office is EPA's center for science and technology. Its employees study ways to prevent pollution, protect human health and reduce environmental risks. Laboratories, research centers and offices across the country help improve the quality of air, water and soil, and improve resource use and management.

The award, which comes under the General Services Administration's Schedule 70 contract, has a one-year base and six one-year options for a total value of $110 million.

CSC of Falls Church, Va., ranks No. 11 on Washington Technology's 2007 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
