Defense picks GAITS for security work
The Defense Distribution Center has awarded a contract to Global Analytic Information Technology Services.
The Defense Distribution Center has awarded a contract worth $1.5 million for one year to Global Analytic Information Technology Services.
GAITS will support network and system Defense Information Technology Security Certification and Accreditation Process reviews, a standardized approach Defense Department agencies use as a guide through the IT certification and accreditation process.
The reviews are a step toward fulfilling DOD Instruction 8500.2, issued in 2003, which calls on DOD officials to implement and management information assurance programs to keep systems secure.
The Center is part of the Defense Logistics Agency.
GAITS, headquartered in Alexandria, Va., provides a range of IT services and solutions for agencies.
