CSC wins DISA networks contract

Computer Sciences Corp. will continue to provide telecommunications services to the Defense Information Systems Agency under a five-year contract that could be worth as much as $613 million.

Under terms of the indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity award, CSC and its team of subcontractors will provide engineering and management support for the Defense Switched Network's voice services and the secure voice services of the Defense Red Switch Network. CSC will also oversee the management of both networks' systems and other related Defense Information Systems Network communications.

The contract is a continuation of the DISN Network Management Support Services-Global Network Engineering contract awarded to CSC in June 1999. CSC took part in the recompetition and held onto it.

The CSC team includes AT&T of San Antonio; BAE Systems Inc. of Herndon, Va.; CACI International Inc. and General Dynamics Corp., both of Arlington, Va.; Qwest Communications Inc. of Fairfax, Va.; Telecordia Inc. of Piscataway, N.J.; and several small businesses.

CSC of El Segundo, Calif., ranks No. 11 on Washington Technology's 2007 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
