Metastorm buys Spotlight Data

Metastorm Inc. has purchased Spotlight Data, a process data collection software company. Terms were not disclosed.

The acquisition will enable Metastorm to offer customers a process discovery tool designed to collect data more quickly and accurately, the Baltimore-based company said. It also will enable customers to process metrics that they can use to drive business process modeling, improvement and optimization.

Metastorm's latest purchase follows the acquisition of Process Competence and Proforma Corp. in November and August, respectively. The acquisitions contribute to Metastorm's strategy of building an end-to-end platform for process improvement and helping its customers unify strategy, analysis and execution across their entire operations.

Metastorm plans to rebrand Spotlight Data's software technology as Metastorm Discovery.

Metastorm specializes in software and solutions for enterprise architecture, business process analysis and modeling, and business process management.
