L-1 Identity Solutions Inc. will provide live-scan fingerprint capture machines to the Turkish National Police under a new contract.

L-1 Identity Solutions Inc. will provide live-scan fingerprint capture machines to the Turkish National Police under a newly awarded contract.

Under the $1.5 million contract, L-1 of Stamford, Conn., will deliver its TouchPrint Enhanced Definition 4100 Slap and Roll Live Scan for criminal booking and civilian enrollment applications.

The national police will use the 10-print capture machines to help comply with new legislation mandating fingerprinting when citizens apply for a driver's license or passport. To facilitate the effort, stationary and portable units will be located in police stations nationwide.

L-1 said that it has received orders for about 5,000 of the units since the company introduced them in 2006. The TouchPrint 400 was introduced to the international market to meet the need for a lightweight, fast and easy-to-use slap-and-roll fingerprinting system.

L-1 offers biometric products and solutions for protecting and securing personal identities and assets.
