Six to vie for AIDSTAR tasks
Six companies have won an opportunity to compete for as much as $200 million in individual tasks through the Agency for International Development's AIDS Support and Technical Assistance Resources contract.
AIDSTAR contracts are intended to provide state-of-the-art technical assistance and support to expand high-quality HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment services and to build in-country technical and management capacity to sustain those services.The President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief covers 120 countries, with a special emphasis on 15 in Africa, Asia and the Caribbean, which are home to about half of HIV infections worldwide.
Six companies have won an opportunity to compete for as much as $200 million in individual tasks over five years through the Agency for International Development's AIDS Support and Technical Assistance Resources contract.
The winners are:
- Abt Associates, a Cambridge, Mass.-based scientific research, consulting and technical assistance company;
- BearingPoint Inc., a McLean, Va., management and technology consulting company;
- Booz Allen Hamilton, a McLean, Va., strategic management and technology consulting company;
- Training Resources Group, an Arlington, Va., organizational development and training services provider;
- Management Science for Health, a Cambridge, Mass.-based nonprofit health care policy adviser; and
- Social Sectors Development Strategies, a Boston-based technical and educational consulting company.
