Eight win Air Force assistance work

The Air Force Air Combat Command at Langley Air Force Base, Va., has awarded contracts to eight companies named to the ACC Contracted Advisory and Assistance Services III contract.

The five-year indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity award has a value of $250 million for the full and open pool of competition and $150 million for the small business awards pool, said Joseph Janus, contracting officer for CAAS III at Langley AFB.

"The total contract ceiling is $400 million. We split that between the two pools of competition," he said.

The large business prime contractors are: Science Applications International Corp.; TASC Inc., a unit of Northrop Grumman; MacAulay-Brown Inc.; and Management Technologies Inc.

The small business awardees are Alpha Omega Change Engineering; Spectrum Comm Inc.; MicroTech LLC; and DP Technology Services Inc.

The companies will compete to provide services under three general categories: management and professional services; studies, analyses and evaluations; and engineering and technical services. They will perform the work at domestic and international locations throughout Air Combat Command.

As part of the contracting process, the four small businesses were asked whether they wanted to compete with the four large contractors in the full and open categories, Janus said.

As a result, six companies, including Spectrum and MicroTech, will compete in the full and open competition, he said.
