Cubic wins $468M Army training center deal
Cubic Corp. will continue supporting the Army's Joint Readiness Training Center through a new contract that begins next month.
Cubic Corp. will continue supporting the Army's Joint Readiness Training Center through a new contract potentially worth $468 million over 10 years. The contract begins next month.
Under the contract, Cubic Applications Inc. will supply broad mission support services for joint forces readiness training at both Fort Polk, La., and Little Rock Air Force Base, Ark.
The new contract increases support levels in the areas of role play, battlefield effects and systems support for tactical engagements, the company said. It also expands the level of support provided to the Exercise Support Group, which addresses the needs of rotational training units in the areas of transportation, supplies, live-fire support and air-delivered resupply.
CAI assists the JRTC in fully integrating all units participating in training programs into exercises using scenarios that involve multinational operations. Since November 2003, JRTC has conducted 21-day mission rehearsal exercises for units scheduled to deploy to Iraq and Afghanistan.
The exercises include situational training, live fire and force-on-force exercises. The company furnishes support for role play, combat training instrumentation, battlefield effects and video and cultural role players to enhance combat realism.
JRTC, which is the Army's foremost Combat Training Center, provides advanced training for a wide variety of units, including brigade combat teams and Special Forces detachments from all of the military services. Units undergoing training at JRTC include active duty, reserve and National Guard, as well as forces from allied nations.
CAI has 1,500 full-time and part-time employees assigned to the project.
Cubic Applications Inc. is a division of Cubic Corp. of San Diego. The company ranks No. 83 on Washington Technology's 2007 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
