Northrop recruited for DOD identity management

Northrop Grumman Corp. won a $51 million contract from the Army Communications-Electronics Command to provide identity management and personnel data collection services to the center responsible for the managing the personnel data for active and retired U.S. military and their families.

Under the contract, Northrop Grumman of Los Angeles will provide the Defense Manpower Data Center with project management, research and analysis. The company's work focuses on ensuring the data integrity used for practices such as benefits administration and decision-making related to personnel and readiness matters.

Delivery services also include Internet-based products. The contract has a one-year base period and three option years.

Northrop Grumman will perform the work primarily in Seaside, Calif., Arlington, Va., and other locations.

Northrop Grumman has 122,000 employees and had annual sales of $30 billion in 2006. The company ranks No. 3 on Washington Technology's 2007 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
