New faces in new places

SAP Public Services Inc. named Patrick Bakey president of its public sector group. He replaces Rand Blazer, who has become chief operating officer at Apex Systems Inc.

In his new position, Bakey will be responsible for the company's sales and field operations for the public sector, including the Defense Department, civilian agencies, homeland security and state and local governments.

Terry Glasgow this month added president duties atop his chief operating officer tasks at NCI Inc., Reston, Va. Michael Solley, who helped guide two companies through successful initial public offerings, resigned last month as president. He is giving up his seat on the board of directors as well.

Also moving up to president is Allen Tiedman, now the top exec at Washington research and engineering company CSSI Inc. Tiedman joined the company last year as executive vice president in business development.

Former senior adviser to the General Services Administration chief, John Sindelar, this month heads to EDS Corp., where he'll be a client industry executive working in EDS' global government industry program.

Health execs named

Recognizing the importance of health care IT in the government market, both Affiliated Computer Services Inc. of Dallas and Computer Sciences Corp. have named top health business execs.

At ACS, Christopher Deelsnyder has moved up in the company's Government Healthcare Solutions group to senior vice president and managing director.

Dr. Robert M. Wah is CSC's new vice president and chief medical officer of its federal-sector business. Most recently Wah was acting deputy national coordinator for health IT at the Health and Human Services Department.

DHS names advisers

At the Homeland Security Department, Louis Freeh and Robert L. Woodson Sr. have been named to the Homeland Security Advisory Council, a panel of experts from state and local governments, private sector and academia who advise DHS secretary Michael Chertoff. Judge Freeh, now president of the Freeh Group, was FBI director from September 1993 to June 2001. Woodson is president of the Center for Neighborhood Enterprise, which he founded in 1981.

Washington Republican State Sen. Joe Zarelli was named to the council's senior advisory committee for state and local officials.

The council's privacy sector senior advisory committee added Jean Spence, executive vice president of global technology and quality for Kraft Foods Inc.
Former Pueblo, Colo., Sheriff Dan Corsentino joined the council's emergency responders senior advisory committee.
