EPA adds to SRA's Brownfields to-do list

SRA International Inc. won a contract from the Environmental Protection Agency to deliver a broad range of technical and analytical support to the agency's Brownfields program.

The contract has an estimated value of $40.3 million over five years if all options are exercised.

Under the contract, SRA of Fairfax, Va., will furnish technical research and analytical support, and legislation and policy analysis to help EPA manage the program. The company also will provide program planning, data analysis, communications and outreach for the program.

Brownfields are real property of which the expansion, redevelopment or reuse may be complicated by the presence of a hazardous substance, pollutant or contaminant. The EPA's Brownfields program assists with preventing, assessing, safely cleaning up and reusing brownfields.

Combined with the recent award of a four-year IT, performance metrics and data analysis contract, SRA will continue to play a role supplying EPA's Brownfields Program with integrated, program implementation and information management solutions.

SRA has about 4,900 workers and had an annual revenue of nearly $1.2 billion for fiscal 2006. The company ranks No. 19 on Washington Technology's 2006 Top 100 list of the largest federal IT contractors.
