N.H. re-ups EDS for Medicaid fiscal services

New Hampshire will continue to rely on EDS Corp. to serve as its Medicaid fiscal agent under a $16.7 million contract.

Under the contract, EDS of Plano, Texas, will keep handling claims processing, provider services and system support until the state transitions to another company in 2008, EDS said. The contract extension includes six months' worth of contingency extensions that will run through June 2008 if the transition is delayed.

EDS, which has held the New Hampshire Medicaid contract since 1985, processes more than 6.5 million claims worth more than $800 million annually in the Granite State. The company has Medicaid fiscal agent contracts with 20 states

EDS has about 117,000 employees and had annual revenue of $19.8 billion in fiscal 2005. The company ranks No. 8 on Washington Technology's 2006 Top 100 list of the largest federal IT contractors.
