Indus protest of DHS Eagle contract award rejected

The Government Accountability Office yesterday closed Indus Corp.'s bid protest over the Homeland Security Department's multibillion-dollar Eagle contract for IT services.

Dan Gordon, GAO's associate general counsel, said his agency had closed the Indus bid protest because the company failed to state a legally valid reason for the protest.

The Vienna, Va.-based company filed the bid protest on July 11.

The Eagle contracts cover several categories of IT services and could amount to a total of $45 billion over a period of more than 10 years. Individual DHS components use the Eagle contracts to issue task orders that Eagle contract holders can bid for.

DHS awarded Eagle contracts to 25 bidders and planned to issue comparable contracts to small-business bidders by July 31. The contract's full name is Enterprise Acquisition Gateway for Leading Edge solutions.
