Entrust buys Orion Security

Entrust Inc. has acquired for $8 million public key infrastructure services provider Orion Security Solutions Inc. of McLean, Va.

Entrust of Addison, Texas, will pay an additional $1 million over the next two years if established goals are met. The Orion buy will extend Entrust's presence in the government sector.

Lockheed Martin nets two buys

Lockheed Martin Corp. has acquired military decision systems provider ISX Corp., and closed its deal for radio frequency identification provider Savi Technology Inc.

The privately owned ISX of Camarillo, Calif., has won two consecutive awards as contractor of the year from the Defense Advanced Research and Projects Agency, Lockheed said.

Lockheed Martin Advanced Technology Laboratories of Cherry Hill, N.J., will manage the ISX business.

Savi of Sunnyvale, Calif., which delivers RFID solutions for managing supply-chain assets, shipments and consignments for defense and commercial clients, will keep its name. Lockheed Martin Integrated Systems & Solutions business unit of Gaithersburg, Md., will manage its operations.

Saber completes Covansys deal

Saber Corp. wrapped up its $40 million acquisition of Covansys Corp.'s state and local government practice.

Saber of Portland, Ore. in March announced its intent to buy the state and local unit of Covansys of Farmington Hills, Mich. The new unit will be integrated into Saber's consulting operations.

EMC acquires ProActivity

Data storage provider EMC Corp. has acquired ProActivity Software Solutions Ltd. of Newton, Mass.

Acquisition of the privately held provider of content management software for business process management will enhance EMC's ability to satisfy customers' needs to automate design of financial processes, an EMC official said.
