L-3 Titan Group wins Iraq logistics support work

L-3 Communications Titan Group won a four-year, $7.2 million contract to manage and operate an automated battlefield supply network, housed at Logistics Supply Area Anaconda in Balad, Iraq.

The L-3 Titan Group will furnish management and technical support for the maintenance of the Standard Army Management Information Systems, known as Stamis. The company will perform the work for the Combat Service Support Automation Management Office.

Stamis are the Army's collective logistics automation systems developed by the combat service support community. They ensure soldiers have the resources they need to win battles.

The contractor also will furnish automation maintenance support services and analysis of Stamis hardware and software for the same office. \

Camp Anaconda is a sprawling U.S. base north of Baghdad that covers more than 15 square miles. Its logistics supply area is the largest support base in the country.

L-3 of New York has about 59,500 employees and had annual revenue of $9.4 billion in fiscal 2005, according to Hoover's Online. The company ranks No. 15 on Washington Technology's 2005 Top 100 list of federal IT prime contractors. The 2006 Top 100 list will be released on May 15.
