Monster wins Indiana online job search and recruitment deal

Monster Government Solutions plans to make state government job searching less scary in Indiana with a new online solution.

The Mclean, Va., company won a $2.8 million contract from the Indiana Department of Workforce Development to build a statewide online job search and recruitment system.

Under the contract, Monster Government Solutions of McLean, Va., will construct and manage an job recruitment system that will offer job seekers a central location to view a variety of career opportunities available in Indiana.

It also will provide employers seeking qualified employees with the suite of new tools to find candidates. Job seekers and firms will be able to use the core functions of the new system at no cost, company and state officials said.

The system will give Indiana a fresh approach to job-matching services for both job seekers and employers alike, said Ron Stiver, the department's commissioner. "Monster brings to the table new thinking and cutting-edge technology to help with 21st century job search requirements," he said.

Monster Government Solutions is a unit of Monster Worldwide Inc. of New York. The company has about 4,800 employees and had annual sales of $986 million in fiscal 2000.
