FirstSource proposal deadline extended again

The Homeland Security Department announced this week that the date that proposals are due for FirstSource, its small-business only contracting vehicle, has been pushed back to Feb. 9. This is the second time DHS has extended the deadline for proposals.
The department also announced that a document answering questions posed by potential vendors would be available the week of Jan. 22.
Proposals for FirstSource, a five-year, $3 billion small businesses-only, set-aside contracting vehicle, were initially due Jan. 10. However, DHS extended the proposals last month to Jan. 23.
FirstSource is intended to provide DHS with a range of interoperable IT equipment and software. Companies with a maximum of 150 employees are allowed to bid as primes on the contract.
FirstSource and its companion contracting vehicle, the Enterprise Acquisition Gateway for Leading Edge Solutions, will help DHS establish a common IT architecture departmentwide. Eagle is a five-year, $45 billion opportunity open to both large and small businesses.
