MTC lands Air Force Materiel Command tech support deal

MTC Technologies Inc. won a four-year task order potentially worth $49.6 million to provide technical and administrative support services to the Air Force Materiel Command.

The task order was awarded under the seven-year, $7.6 billion Flexible Acquisition and Sustainment Tool contract, known as FAST, awarded in 2001 to six prime contractors. FAST provides technical and professional services, modifications and spares for Air Force managed weapons systems.

Under the task order, MTC will provide more than 250 personnel with varied technical and administrative skills and experience for Air Force purchasing and supply-chain management initiatives. These initiatives will integrate the purchasing and supply processes into a single end-to-end process that reduces operating costs and improves force readiness.

MTC will perform the work at three Air Force Logistics Centers located at Robins Air Force Base, Ga., Tinker Air Force Base, Okla., Hill Air Force Base, Utah, as well as at the Air Force Materiel Command headquarters at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio.

MTC of Dayton, Ohio, provides systems engineering, IT, intelligence and program management services for the federal government. The company employs about 2,700 people in more than 40 locations and posted 2004 revenue of $273 million. MTC is No. 59 on Washington Technology's 2005 Top 100 list of federal prime contractors.
