General Dynamics to pick up FC Business Systems

General Dynamics of Falls Church, Va., is ranked No. 5, and FC Business Systems is No. 68 on this year's Top 100 list of the largest government IT contractors.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but General Dynamics is picking up about $150 million in new revenue from FC Business Systems. The acquisition is expected to close in the first quarter of 2006.
Fairfax, Va.-based FC Business Systems has about 1,000 employees and offers enterprise network services, including information assurance and information security, network engineering, and software application development and integration. About one-half of its employees have security clearances.
FC Business Systems will become part of the General Dynamics Network Systems business unit, which has more than 6,000 employees and specializes in designing, integrating and supporting mission-critical information systems.
Overall, General Dynamics has 71,900 employees and 2004 revenue of $19.2 billion.
