Northrop Grumman nabs Social Security LAN deal
A $153 million, five-year contract awarded to Northrop Grumman Corp. by the Social Security Administration will focus on advancing the agency's network infrastructure and making it secure.

The agreement calls for the installation, engineering and maintenance of the administration's local area network. The agreement is worth up to $153 million over five years.
Northrop Grumman IT of McLean, Va., will provide a range of engineering services and switching products, including Cisco hardware and software, to support the Social Security Administration's nearly 1,800 locations.
The project team includes Comstor, Chantilly, Va., and Communication Supply Corp., Carol Stream, Ill.
Northrop Grumman ranks No. 2 on Washington Technology's 2005 Top 100list, which measures federal contracting revenue.
