Apptis nabs several deals for military health system work
Apptis Inc. has won more than a half dozen contracts from the Defense Department's Military Health System, totaling more than $85 million.

Through one contract, the Chantilly, Va., company will perform 24-hour production and maintenance services for MHS' enterprise blade-server deployment.
Also among the wins is a modification to MHS' Hub and Rack Shared Computing Infrastructure contract, which involves deploying blade servers at 75 military treatment facilities around the world.
Another is the designated provider data contract from Tricare Management Activity. The contract features an automated data warehousing and information system to support the Tricare Designated Provider Program. The Apptis team includes DefenseWeb Technologies Inc. and Ingenix Corp., a subsidiary of UnitedHealth Group Inc.
Another contract is from the Resources Information Technology Program Office to explore concepts related to electronic health capabilities. Apptis is leading the study to evaluate, recommend and lead eHealth capabilities to be integrated and deployed, such as single sign-on for client-server applications, context management and secure messaging.
Apptis, which has about 1,400 employees and annual sales of $600 million, ranks No. 33 on Washington Technology's 2005 Top 100 list, which measures federal contracting revenue.
