Apptis wins $100 million IT services deal with DHS

Apptis Inc. will embark on a series of tasks for the Homeland Security Department starting with an initial order to upgrade the systems infrastructure for the Office of Citizenship and Immigration Services.

The $8.5 million task order for the Chantilly, Va., company is part of a five-year multiple award blanket purchase agreement from the department with a potential value of $100 million, the company said this week.

Under the contract, the company will offer a full line of equipment to help modernize DHS's computing and network infrastructure. The company will sell DHS a wide range of products, including Dell desktop and laptop computers and servers, Cisco routers and switches and scanners and printers.

Apptis also will provide engineering services that include deployment and configuration of servers, planning for technology upgrades and other related services.

The contract is the second major award for Apptis from the Homeland Security Department. The company previously won an agencywide blanket purchase agreement worth a similar amount with the Customs and Border Protection for IT infrastructure, products and services.

Apptis provides network engineering, software development and systems integration to the commercial and government sectors. The privately held company has annual sales of $600 million and is ranked No. 33 on Washington Technology's Top 100 list of the largest government contractors.
