Burlin to lead ACS' new government group
Affiliated Computer Services Inc. has hired Tom Burlin as president of its newly reorganized Government Solutions Group.
Affiliated Computer Services Inc. has hired Tom Burlin as president of its newly reorganized Government Solutions Group, the company announced this week.
Burlin joins ACS following a 26-year career with IBM Corp. of Armonk, N.Y. Most recently, he was a partner in Big Blue's business consulting services organization responsible for profit and loss, sales, revenue, customer satisfaction and implementation in a $1.8 billion government business portfolio.
ACS combined its State and Local Solutions Group with its State Healthcare Solutions Group in May to bring together all of its state and local government business under a single umbrella. In looking for an executive to direct this new group, ACS sought an individual with vast experience in the government sector, the company said.
Mark King, ACS' president and chief operating officer, said Burlin has the right qualifications to lead the Dallas-based company's new Government Solutions Group to success.
"We believe his expertise with technology best practices and commitment to client satisfaction, as well as his experience managing a large government services business, will lead ACS to new levels of success," King said.
ACS Government Solutions serves health care and government clients in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and more than 1,500 local governments.
