Army biomed research taps Anteon

Anteon International Corp. won a five-year, $10.6 million from the Army to provide scientific and technical support services for the service's biomedical research program, the company said today.

Anteon has supported the Military Operational Medicine Research Program, which focuses on human physiology research, since 2000.

Anteon's work will center on occupational health surveillance, physical performance and fitness, nutrition, health and performance in extreme environments and other related areas. The company also will provide program management support for congressional special interest research programs, covering topics that include Gulf War illnesses, neurotoxin exposure treatments and technologies for metabolic monitoring.

Headquartered in Fairfax, Va., Anteon is an information technology and systems engineering and integration company whose primary customer is the federal government. The company has nearly 9,200 employees and had 2004 revenue of almost $1.3 billion. It ranks No. 19 on Washington Technology's 2004 Top 100 list of federal prime contractors. The 2005 Top 100 list will be published May 9.
