Marines pick N.E.T. offerings

The Marine Corps Systems Command has selected N.E.T. Federal's Promina multiservice access and Shout900 IP telephony platforms for deployment in the Joint Enhanced Core Communication System.

The system is a Humvee-mounted, multifunctional communication system for Marine Expeditionary Units, said officials from the Freemont, Calif., company, a subsidiary of Network Equipment Technologies Inc.

The Joint Enhanced Core Communication System lets deployed forces establish mobile network connectivity between land and sea operations. Promina provides a foundation on which to build enterprise WANs or interfaces to a range of carrier services. It can consolidate user traffic and applications on a single platform.
