Chicago Housing Authority taps Lawson for ERP work

Lawson Software Inc. has won a $2.5 million contract from the Chicago Housing Authority to provide enterprise resource planning software, the company announced today.

Under the contract, Lawson of St. Paul, Minn., will provide financial, human resources and procurement ERP suites. The software solution is intended to assist the agency in reducing its operating costs while improving service to employees and constituents.

Lawson is partnered on the project with Blackwell Consulting Services Inc. of Chicago.

The two companies will assist the organization in applying best practices to business processes and to implement them in a manner that will reduce the time spent on administrative tasks. Lawson consultants will train users on the new system.

The Lawson application suites will provide a centralized system with a single user interface. The new system will automate core administrative tasks to reduce duplicate data entry.

Replacing its legacy business systems with Lawson applications will help the organization improve data access and analysis as well as comply with federal reporting requirements.

Lawson, a provider of business application software and consulting services, has more than 1,500 employees and annual sales of $363.6 million, according to Hoover's Online of Austin, Texas.
