Lisa Schlosser will take over as chief information officer for the Housing and Urban Development Department Feb. 7.

Schlosser will leave her post as associate CIO for IT investment management at the Transportation Department. Since 2001, she has also been in charge of IT security at that agency.

She was Transportation's first senior-level IT security official and an early advocate of integrating IT security into lines of business, such as capital planning and investment, human resources and procurement. Darren Ash, deputy associate CIO for IT investment management, will assume her position until Transportation names a permanent replacement.

Schlosser replaces acting HUD CIO Darlene Williams. Williams became general deputy assistant secretary for administration Feb. 1, a HUD spokesman said. Vickers Meadows had been CIO until December.
