Anteon wins $350 million Army training deal

Anteon International Corp. has won a $350 million contract from the Army to design and install live-training ranges and multipurpose battle complexes, the company announced today.

Under the Live Training Ranges contract, Anteon of Fairfax, Va., will design and install dynamic, modular and scalable training solutions for individual, team and combined arms soldier training in a live-fire environment. Each training range will provide real-time awareness of the battlefield and the data collection necessary to support effective after-action reviews.

The contract includes the Army's Digital Multipurpose Training Range Complex and its Digital Multipurpose Battle Area Complex. These ranges will improve the quality of individual, crew, squad and platoon training for Army infantry and armor units.

The Army's Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation awarded the contract.

Anteon offers IT and engineering solutions. The company has more than 8,600 employees and sales of $1 billion. It ranked No. 19 on Washington Technology's 2004 Top 100 list, which measures federal contracting revenue.
