PlanGraphics wins N.Y. cybersecurity deal

PlanGraphics Inc. won a $1.7 million contract from the New York Office of Cyber Security and Critical Protection to provide technologies that will help protect critical infrastructure in the state, the company announced today.

Under the contract, PlanGraphics of Frankfort, Ky., will develop components of an Internet-based system to enable public safety personnel and state officials to find information about critical assets and infrastructure.

The infrastructure data will be stored in a spatial data warehouse, or SDW and data catalog constructed by the office.

To support this, PlanGraphics will provide a Web-based module for loading and updating critical infrastructure data sets. It also will provide a Web-based inquiry module that includes a search engine for intelligent searching and browsing the SDW and data catalog and an interactive GIS application for querying and searching the SDW.

The Office of Cyber Security and Critical Protection is responsible for leading and coordinating New York State's efforts regarding cyber-readiness and resilience and geographic information technologies. The office also coordinates the collection and maintenance of state critical infrastructure data and serves as the point of contact regarding geographic information systems in state-declared emergencies.

PlanGraphics offers systems integration and implementation services to the government and commercial sectors.
