Anteon to research aerospace structures

Anteon International Corp. won a six-year, $24 million Air Force contract to research and demonstrate new aerospace structural technologies, the company said.

The Air Force Research Laboratory at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base awarded the contract. The lab conducts aeronautical vehicle research and development for current and future military aerospace vehicles. Wright-Patterson in Dayton, Ohio, is one of the locations of the laboratory's 10 technology directorates.

"The ability to support new aerospace structural technologies is key to the development of new warfighter capabilities and advancing the Air Force's mission," said Joe Kampf, Anteon's president and chief executive officer.

Headquartered in Fairfax, Va., Anteon is an information technology and systems engineering and integration company. It ranks No. 19 on Washington Technology's 2004 Top 100 list of federal prime contractors. The company employs more than 8,200 workers worldwide and had 2003 revenue of $1 billion.
