Raytheon wins Navy engineering services deal

Raytheon Co. has won a $98.8 million task order from the Naval Air Systems Command to continue providing supplies and services to support the command's operations, the company announced today.

The award is the third of four one-year options on an indefinite-delivery, indefinite quantity contract won in 2001. The contract is potentially worth $449.8 million that was awarded in 2001.

Raytheon Technical Services Co. of Indianapolis will continue to provide supplies and services required to perform engineering, industrial, logistics and operational support services for the command's operations, including navigation systems, aircraft support and mission planning.

The new contract allows the Naval Air Systems Command to procure a variety of program support services, including systems engineering and software engineering, overhaul and repair, spares and integration, and technical, manufacturing and life-cycle support. Work will be performed in Indianapolis.

The services are used to maintain platforms and systems for the V-22, F/A-18 and F-14.

Raytheon Technical Services is a unit of Raytheon Co. of Waltham, Mass. The company has more than 78,000 employees and annual sales of $18.1 billion. It ranks No. 7 on Washington Technology's 2004 Top 100 list, which measures federal contracting revenue.
