Tennessee Highway Patrol taps Intergraph for computer dispatch

Intergraph Public Safety Inc. has won a $1.2 million contract from the Tennessee Highway Patrol to build a statewide, computer-aided dispatch system, the company announced this week.

The Huntsville, Ala., company will expand the Tennessee Highway Patrol's existing dispatch system, which covers the Nashville area, to reach the entire state. The new system will boost coverage to several key districts, including Knoxville, Chattanooga and Memphis.

The expansion will integrate all districts in the state into a single environment, bringing opportunities for mutual aid and cross-district collaboration, said Ben Eazzetta, Intergraph Public Safety's president.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol enforces federal and state traffic laws in the state.

Intergraph Public Safety, a provider of integrated software applications for the government and commercial sectors, is part of Intergraph Corp., also of Huntsville, Ala.

The parent company has about 3,700 employees and annual sales of $527.3 million.
