Northrop Grumman gets first Netcents task order
Northrop Grumman Corp.'s award from the Air Force under the Network Centric Solutions program is the first unrestricted competitive solicitation task order under the $9 billion Netcents program.
Northrop Grumman Corp. won a five-year, $1 million task order from the Air Force under the Network Centric Solutions program for technical support for computer hardware and software updates and upgrades, the company said today.
The award is the first unrestricted competitive solicitation task order under the $9 billion Netcents program, a five-year, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract to provide the Air Force with information technology products and services. In September, the Air Force chose Northrop Grumman along with seven other companies for awards under the program.
Under the task order, Northrop Grumman's IT sector of Herndon, Va., will provide SMARTnet services, a comprehensive maintenance plan for Cisco hardware and software, which facilitates quick problem diagnosis and resolution to ensure network availability.
Headquartered in Los Angeles, Northrop Grumman is No. 2 on Washington Technology's 2004 Top 100 list. The company employs 125,000 workers and had 2003 revenue of $26.2 billion. Its IT division provides IT solutions and business services for government and commercial clients.
