Wearable lie detectors

Chicago-based V LLC recently launched its Sentinel product that lets security screeners gauge whether people pose a threat.

The product includes layered voice analysis software, which processes 128 parameters to help determine whether a subject is lying based on emotional states such as excitement, stress, uncertainty and deception, the company said.

The technology was developed in Israel to combat terrorism.

The Sentinel includes a wearable microcomputer from Xybernaut Corp. and wearable display and microphone from MicroOptical Corp. V LLC plans to market the solution for passenger screening at airports, building security checkpoints, border crossings and law enforcement.
