Tessada takes on Corpus Christi Army Depot

Tessada and Associates Inc., of Springfield, Va., has won a contract from the Defense Logistics Agency to support the Corpus Christi Army Depot in Corpus Christi, Texas, one of the Army's largest aviation repair facilities.

The Material Management Initiative contract, which has a potential value of $2 million, is for one year with an option for a second year, according to Tessada officials.

Under the terms of the deal, subcontractor Science Applications International Corp., of San Diego will install its Scoptima supply chain management solution at the Army depot.

Tessada contractors will use the system to inventory material, place new orders and prepare a demand history that will help the depot better manage acquisitions.

"The system will help Corpus Christi establish a baseline," said John Carroll, Tessada's director of business development. "This is like a first step toward an integrated prime vendor program."

Last month, SAIC won the DLA's Integrated Prime Vendor Generation Two contract to provide supply chain management at naval air depots. The contract is worth up to $600 million over 10 years, if all options are exercised.

Tessada is a subcontractor on IPV Gen II.

Both IPV GEN II and the Material Management Initiative are part of a DLA strategy to implement integrated logistics support using best commercial practices. The Defense Supply Center Philadelphia administers the programs.

Tessada is a privately held technology services company with 675 employees in 27 U.S. offices. The company specializes in logistics, financial services, acquisition and administrative support, facilities management, multimedia services and IT solutions.
